The Farmer and His Wonderful Goose
Once upon a time, there was a poor farmer who lived in a small village. One day, while working in his field, he found a goose wandering near his barn. The goose looked healthy and calm, so the farmer decided to keep it.
The next morning, to the farmer’s surprise, he found a shiny golden egg inside the goose’s nest. Amazed, he took the egg to the market and sold it for a lot of money. Every day, the goose laid one golden egg, and the farmer became rich.
At first, the farmer was very happy. But soon, greed took over his heart. “If this goose lays one golden egg every day, imagine how much gold it has inside!” he thought. “I’ll get all the gold at once by cutting it open.”
Ignoring the warnings of his wife and neighbors, the farmer took a knife and opened the goose. To his shock, the goose was just like any other inside—no gold at all! And from that day, the goose never laid another golden egg.
The farmer lost everything, all because of his impatience and greed.
